Greetings! We are currently in the Toyko Narita airport, hanging out for a few more hours before our connecting flight to Beijing leaves at 6pm-ish Tokyo time. It's about one o'clock in the morning for us, but we both feel pretty awake; it's difficult to feel too tired when the sun is shining so brightly.
You may have noticed that getting to Tokyo took us significantly longer than we expected. The flight that was supposed to leave Monday afternoon was delayed until Tuesday morning, and we just landed in Japan a couple hours ago. It was frustrating at first, but we now have a large amount of voucher money from the airline to spend, as well as a little time to wander this little slice of Japan.
We are excited to be in Asia and to be so close to done with the complications of getting ourselves and our stuff to China. Those of you in the states who happen to be online quite late and reading our blog, please pray for safety for the rest of the flight and that our luggage arrives safely with us.
We will try to post soon after we get to China, but I have to say that I am throughly ready to do some unpacking, even at our temporary home with Matt's parents. Living out of your carry-on baggage gets old quickly when you've loaded your bag mainly with books to avoid checked-baggage overweight charges.
